DC elephant trial underway

The trial over whether Ringling Brothers' handling of its endangered Asian elephants is abusive got underway in a DC district court yesterday. Several animal advocacy groups, along with plaintiff Tom Rider, who used to work for Ringling, are suing under the Endangered Species Act.
